It is the beginning of the twenty-first century.

When we open the curtain of the night
sky decorated with a constellation and star fortune telling,
the peace festival is being held.
Children's ambassadors from all over the world aremaking a circle,
hand in hand around the Atomic Bomb Dome,
and the doves in the sky are also making a circle.
All of them are enjoying the fireworks together.

I drew this picture with the hope that
a circle of people around the A-bomb Dome in Hiroshima will
eventually evolve into a big circle of people in the world.

I usually work as an illustrator.
I draw illustrations for advertisement according to clients' request.
However, I would like to draw a picture as
I want to instead of being forced to.
I don't know how well I can express the message through my drawings,
but I really wish that
my illustrations would support under-privileged children in the world.
I hope that the twenty-first century will be peaceful without wars
and filled with smiles of children who have dreams and hopes.
This may be the biggest transformation in the world.

「CHANGE ALL BOMBS ON EARTH INTO FIREWORKS!」

I am not alone. Though we sometimes quarrel,

we would like to share the feeling, crying and laughing together.

A friend of mine told me a fantastic idea. Will it come true?

I wonder if another friend, who finally understood me,

is also looking up at the same sky.

We have the same wish. We want to decorate the vast night sky with fireworks.

Yes! In the heart of all the loved ones,

let's transform things valueless on earth into fireworks.

This is a big, very big, fantasy.

If we could change the sky, not only of the town where we live

but also of this whole world, into the Flower Dome,

I would give you a bouquet glittering in dreamy colors.

It will be a wonderful night sky with an exciting number of flowers.

We have the same wish. We want to decorate the vast night sky with fireworks.

Yes! In the heart of all the loved ones,

let's transform things valueless on earth into fireworks.

May this dream come true!
